Margaritaville

I had a fantastic day yesterday. One that all stay-at-home moms deserve from time to time. My wonderful neighbor Ann and I have been taking turns once a week watching each other's children and it is working out fabulous!!! (I am going to be so sad when they leave mid-June for a month to get out of the heat!) Yesterday morning I dropped the kids off and went to knitting at Coffee Rush for a couple hours and did about an hour of retail therapy. It was so relaxing and I really feel I was doing something good for myself as well as my kids.

Last night I also decided that I needed a night out with my good friend Pam. I had been begging her to take me to Kona Grill from margaritas since I gave birth to Angus. Finally she gave in and we went for a few much needed drinks. I would have to say that I usually like my margaritas on the rocks with salt on the rim, but Kona Grill has the BEST blended margarita I have ever tasted. I got the strawberry and it is so finely blended you can't even feel the ice particles on your tongue. Unfortunately because they taste so good, they go down way too easy and I had to pace myself. We don't have any good stories from last night, but we did have a good time.

An ode to my favorite drink...Margaritas!!!

MARGARITAVILLE by Jimmy Buffett

Nibblin' on sponge cake,watchin' the sun bake;
All of those tourists covered with oil.
Strummin' my six string on my front porch swing.
Smell those shrimp--They're beginnin' to boil.

Wasted away again in Margaritaville,
Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
But I know it's nobody's fault.

Don't know the reason,
Stayed here all season
With nothing to show but this brand new tattoo.
But it's a real beauty,
A Mexican cutie,
how it got here I haven't a clue.

Wasted away again in Margaritaville,
Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
Now I think,-- hell it could be my fault.

I
blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top;
Cut my heel, had to cruise on back home.
But there's booze in the blender,
And soon it will render
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on.

Wasted away again in Margaritaville
Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
But I know, it's my own damn fault.
Yes, and some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
And I know it's my own damn fault.

I should be stress-free for a while!

Tomorrow we are off to Jack's baptism and to a Memorial Day party. I hope everyone has a safe, stress-free, healthy (for all you sickos out there!), and fun Memorial Day week-end!
