Tryin' this blog thing again...
I was so intimidated by everyone's knitting blog that I stopped blogging. I thought I would try it again as I think I have more of an idea of what to write about. Since I have a toddler, I don't get to knit as much as I would like, so my blog will not be strictly about knitting. It will most like be about adventures of a really pregnant woman with a toddler, who loves to knit.
Since I am home alone as my husband is up in Portland, Oregon (my fantasy place to live) and I have Gemma (my daughter) duty, I will be posting throughout the night trying to get this thing presentable to the professional bloggers in my knitting group.
This morning Gemma and I went to Desert Breeze Park to meet our friends Annette and Gage. They recently reopend the railroad part of the park, where I held Gemma's first birthday. It was a beautiful day and there were tons of kids around as it is fall break week. Annette and I sat and contemplated our knitting projects: her sweater projects for her two kids and my bobble problem I was having with Gemma's sweater. I encouraged my friend to go ahead and restart her two kids sweater projects. I think when a person first begins to knit 'instant gratification' is not achieved very quickly and if you are not a patient person, it might be a touch hobby to enjoy. I personally think of knitting as a therapeutic hobby that keeps my mind sharp and my hands busy. After encouraging my friend I had to keep practicing my bobbles. I can't believe you have to knit and purl into on stitch 5 times. It seems crazy, but it does turn out. I am going to try the real deal on Gemma's sweater tomorrow. [K1, P1, K1, P1, K1] into the first stitch, turn, P5, turn, slip the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th stitch over the 1st stitch and knit through the back loop. Try it and see what you get! You should have a lovely looking bobble!
I have also decided to use this blog to talk about my other favorite hobby, cooking. Since it was just me and Gemma for dinner this evening I thought I would whip up a quiche for the two of us. Kind of a girlie dinner, but my little madam loves eggs! I made this fabulous Asparagus Quiche. I highly recommend the recipe and will make it again.
